Ecoute, an iOS music player app that âputs Appleâs Music app to shame,â has just received its second major update.
Released in August last year and subsequently given an AppAdvice App of the Week honorable mention, Ecoute got its first major update last October. That update brought iPhone 5 support and iTunes Match enhancements, among other improvements.
Now, Ecouteâs second significant update brings automatic artwork download, a âPlay Nextâ feature, and URL scheme support.
With the new version of Ecoute, you can now automatically download missing album artworks for your music collection thanks to the appâs improved Last.fm integration. Of course, you can still automatically scrobble your played tracks in Ecoute to your Last.fm account.
The appâs new version also introduces a âPlay Nextâ feature, which puts any track, album, or artist into the queue right after the currently playing track. Just long-tap on an item you want to play next and tap âPlay Nextâ in the context menu.
Finally, along with a couple of bug fixes, Ecouteâs latest update adds support for the appâs very own URL scheme, prefixed with âecoute://â. This enables Ecoute to interact with other apps like Launch Center Pro. Click here to learn more about the new URL scheme.
