Jai Paul has urged fans not to an illegal leak of an LP claiming to be his debut album.

The musician has denied the download, available for £7, is his debut album and asked fans not to buy it.

He tweeted: ‘To confirm: demos uploaded on Bandcamp were not uploaded by me, this is not my debut album. Please don’t buy. Statement to follow later. Thanks, Jai.’

His management have since revealed that Jai’s laptop was stolen shortly before the tracks were uploaded.

The album, which was posted online on Saturday, was released without fanfare on Saturday on popular music site Bandcamp.

Its release raised eyebrows as it seemed to have nothing to do with Jai’s record label, XL.

None of the 16 tracks had titles although the album did include his singles BTSTU and Jasmine along with a cover of Jennifer Paige’s Crush.

Bandcamp have since taken the album down although critics have branded the new material as ‘awesome’.
