The new Facebook Home launcher app for Android phones has already leaked online four days before launch, but resist the temptation to download it: It's super buggy and isn't worth the headache.
Tech site MoDaCo leaked on Monday a pre-release version of Facebook Home, the social network's launcher software that turns mobile devices into a Facebook-centric device. The beta software works with Google's Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 7 tablet, but eager early adopters have experienced some issues with the download.
Mashable attempted to download it as well on a Nexus 4, but only got a blank screen. We had to uninstall the apps â" Facebook, Facebook Home and Facebook Messenger â" to get the device working again.
According to comments on the MoDaCo post, those who successfully received the update were unable to access key features such as "chat heads".
So while you may want to get your hands on Facebook Home soon, we recommend sitting tight until it officially launches on Friday â" or at least, wait until a more reliable leak pops up online.
